369th AG BN CSM moves up to AGS

FORT JACKSON, S.C. – The U.S. Army Adjutant General Corps and AG School changed command sergeants major in a ceremony at the Soldier Support Institute Sept. 18.

Command Sgt. Maj. Jasmine Young relinquished enlisted responsibilities to Command Sgt. Maj. Robert King.

“During your time as Regimental CSM, it was a period of transformation in which you helped modernize operations, overhaul institutional training, and provide steadfast guidance that positively impacted tens of thousands of HR (human resources) professionals across the Army,” said Col. Richard Strong, AGS commandant. “Overall, nearly 30,000 students across all Initial Entry Training and Professional Military Education, and generations more were impacted from your guidance, mentorship, and leadership of the AG Corps and AG School.”

Young helped implement military occupational specialty 42T, Talent Acquisition Specialist, guiding it from initial build through transformation and transfer to the Recruiting and Retention College. She spearheaded the first Military Occupational Classification and Structure and Standards of Grade update since 2013, modernizing the force for the future. She also identified military pay processing gaps and led a comprehensive military pay gap analysis. Young worked with the U.S. Army Human Resources Command Military Pay Team to develop an enterprise process map to resolve systemic pay issues globally.

Young’s next assignment is the U.S. Army Pacific G1 (Personnel) sergeant major.

CSM King moves up from the AGS’s 369th Adjutant General Battalion where he was the command sergeant major.

“We’ve already been on a few trips and sat in on multiple meetings together, and I can already tell that you bring a vast amount of experience and sound advice to the direction of the AG Corps as we all keep up with change, modernization, and transformation across the Army,” said Strong. “Together, we will ensure our Corps remains relevant, competent, and indispensable to our command teams.”

King recognized the AGS staff and his family for allowing him to serve as the 14th Command Sergeant Major.

“It’s not lost on me that I take this position during a defining era of Army transformation,” said King. “As our Army modernizes its formations and training for large-scale combat operations and operationalizes transformation in contact, the AG Corps must continue to lead from the front.

“In this fast-evolving landscape, my charge is simple: master your technical fundamentals, embrace continuous change, enforce our standards, and lead with empathy and discipline,” he said. “I pledge to you my full energy, transparent counsel, and unwavering commitment to your training and professional growth.”

AGS trains and develops agile leaders and Soldiers who provide human resources and music support to the force. They develop human resources concepts, doctrine, training and organizational designs to support an expeditionary Army in war and in peace.
