Guess Who’s Back? Army Recruiters Invite Arizonans to ‘Lose Themselves’ in Fairgrounds Fun

PHOENIX — For the first time in five years, the U.S. Army is back at the Arizona State Fair. Local recruiters have returned with an interactive exhibit booth, swapping formal office desks for fairgrounds’ fun to meet face-to-face with the public in a high-energy, low-pressure setting.

The return to the Phoenix fairgrounds marks a major push by the Phoenix Recruiting Battalion to reach individuals who may not have met with a recruiter at their high school, or who have hesitated to seek information in a formal office environment. Local recruiters will staff the booth every Friday throughout the fair's run.

Echoing the famous lyrics of artist Eminem, recruiters are encouraging fairgoers to "lose yourself in the music and the moment" and find out what it means to be all you can be.

"I'm excited to be here at an event like this, and I enjoy talking to people about what I do in the Army and the opportunities that service provides," said Sgt. Isaiah Loharsingh, a recruiter with the Metro Phoenix Recruiting Company.

Loharsingh is one of the recruiters on-site to open doors for young Arizonans eager to explore their professional potential. As the song goes, sometimes you only get one shot—do not miss your chance. Fairgoers can stop by the booth to discover how to claim their once-in-a-lifetime moment.

The Army exhibit, located near the Coliseum, features several interactive attractions, including an arcade boxing machine designed to test punching power, alongside various yard games. Recruiters are using the casual, midway environment on Fridays to answer questions about daily military life, college tuition assistance, and specialized career paths.

The recruiting team is looking to engage with a broad spectrum of visitors, including parents, veterans, military supporters, school administrators, and athletic coaches.

"We want to speak with everyone who plays a role in supporting these young men and women," Loharsingh said. "Whether you are a parent with questions about safety and benefits, a coach interested in leadership development, or a veteran wanting to share your experience, our booth is open to you."

The Arizona State Fair runs through the end of the month, with the Army exhibit active and staffed by local recruiters every Friday during fair hours.
